Beer Bloggers Conference Begins with Pub Crawl

Last night, a group of beer bloggers and craft beer industry people, many from out of town, got a taste of Portland’s beer scene.  Organized by Bill Night and Charles Culp, the crawl began at the conference headquarters at Lloyd Center Doubletree, and went to the Widmer pilot brewery at the Rose Quarter, Deschutes Brewery and Pub, Lucky Labrador NW at Quimby, and the New Old Lompoc.  It was a clear, warm evening, but not too hot, much to the relief of those who I talked with from Mississippi, Washington …

To commemorate our anniversary, we’re planning on celebrating this evening (July 6) at Apex (SE 12th and Division).  It’s a good evening to join us for some good beer, because Fort George is taking over the taps at Apex today.  We at Taplister are big fans of Fort George.  If you like pepper spiced beer, make sure you …

Der Rheinlander Celebrates 48 Years

Der Rheinlander restaurant celebrated 48 years in Portland with a Guest Appreciation and Open House on April 30.  It was a great event, with a free buffet and free beer and wine.  The line for food was long, but were entertained with music from the roving accordion player and singing waiters.  There was also beer tasting with reps from local distributors serving tasters of many delicious German beers from breweries such as Riesdorf, Weihenstephaner, and Eku.  If you are looking for good German food and beer with the feel of …
